WMC professor lectured abroad

September 02, 1992

WESTMINSTER -- Western Maryland College Assistant Professor of History Patrick Reed spent the summer at the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands presenting a series of lectures of American history.

He also met with American history and American studies faculty to discuss the teaching of American history. His invitation to the Netherlands was part of a cultural exchange program by the university and funded by the government.

Mr. Reed's exploration of the American Revolution was partly funded by a grant from the National Endowment of the Humanities.

Four other WMC faculty also were recently promoted: Esther Iglich and Louise Paquin, both in biology, to professor; and Herman Behling in education and Ronald Miller in theater arts, to associate professor with tenure.
