2 P.G. men face weapon, drug charges

Two Prince George's County men were arrested on weapon and drug charges in Annapolis after police investigating a shooting Friday found $8,000 worth of cocaine in their car.

Police had been called to the Clay Street neighborhood about noon after a shot was fired into a crowd, grazing Monterey Hastey of O'Bery Court, police said. He left the scene, and police are searching for him.

Bystanders described the gunman's getaway car as a white Datsun. An officer stopped the car a few minutes later at Rosedale Street, police said.

When police searched the car, they found two bags containing 3 grams of cocaine each and a third bag filled with 71 grams of cocaine.

A 9mm semiautomatic handgun, reported stolen from a Largo man, also was found in the car, police said.

Donnell Parker, 20, of Capitol Heights was charged with assault with intent to murder, possessing drugs, distributing drugs, reckless endangerment and theft, police said. Jonathan Braswell, 20, of Upper Marlboro was charged with possessing drugs with the intent to distribute and possession of a stolen weapon.

An Annapolis woman also in the car was arrested. Alice Tongue, 43, of the 700 block of Rosedale St. was charged with possessing drugs with the intent to distribute, police said.

Man and woman rob ice cream man

An ice cream man was robbed Sunday after being flagged down by a woman on Brockbridge Road in Laurel, county police reported.

Rafik Mousaseyan, 35, of Montgomery County told police he was driving down the road at 4:15 p.m. when a woman stopped him and said she wanted to buy ice cream. She put her hand in her purse, as if to get money out, but instead demanded that Mr. Mousaseyan hand over all his cash. A man with her grabbed money from Mr. Mousaseyan's shirt pocket.

The pair was last seen getting into a red truck with another man.

Police described the woman as white, in her mid-20s, wearing a red shirt and white shorts, weighing about 100 pounds and was 5-foot-3-inches tall. Police gave no description of her companions.
