Old Mill Patriots

August 30, 1992

Head coach: Pete Regala (10th season).

Assistant coaches: Mike Marcus, Jack Bliss, Dave Caprio, Rod Williams, Dave Kraft, George Ash and Harold Hodges.

1991 record: 8-3, 4A Region IV champions, lost to Largo, 14-3, in 4A quarterfinals.

Returnees: Seniors Brian Jones (LB-QB), Byron Brown (DT), Aaron Inkrote (DB), Dave Sobolewski (DE-C), Ron Tubaya (OT-DL), Chris Yurwitz (QB-LB), Mark Procaccini (OG-LB), Kevin Montgomery (TB), Matt Lenhart (TE-T-DE) and Frank Ortiz (OT-DL); juniors Israel Deschaine (TE-G) and Willie Walker (WR).

Newcomers: Seniors George Epps (QB), Wes Whalen (K) and Dwayne Crowder (WR); juniors Nate Oliver (TE-DE), Issiaga Soumah (DB), Ricky Graves (TB), Matt Tilley (OL-DL), Mike Miller (FB-LB), Mike Longazel (FB-LB), James Newkirk (TB), John Botchie (T), Dan Ramsey (OL), Steth Roussey (OL), Robert Shaffer (NG-C-OG), Tom Erculiani (DB), Lenny Wilson (DB-RB), Jermaine Spraggins (WR), Chris McGurk (C) and Ted Meehan (NG).

Coach's outlook: "We have two starters back on offense and none on defense. The rest [of the returnees] played some, but didn't start. We're going to be kind of young. It depends on how fast some of the young guys learn the system."

Anne Arundel County Sun outlook: It may be a stretch to expect a third-straight Region IV championship from a team with such a large turnover in personnel, but Old Mill certainly should remain in the hunt.
