Sotiros completes basic training

Marine Pvt. Roy J. Sotiros, son of Thomas A. Sotiros of Woodbine, recently completed recruit training.

During the training cycle at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C., recruits are taught the basics of battlefield survival,

introduced to typical military daily routine and personal and professional standards.

All recruits participate in an active physical conditioning program and gain proficiency in a variety of military skills, including first aid, rifle marksmanship and close-order drill. Teamwork and self-discipline are emphasized.

Pfc. Fallon reports to 1st Marines

Marine Pfc. Justin P. Fallon, son of William L. and Mary M. Fallon of Woodbine, recently reported for duty with the 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines, 1st Marine Division, Camp Pendleton, Calif.
