Michael G. Fahey Supervised port's fleet

Michael G. Fahey, retired supervisor of the fleet of boats of the Maryland Port Administration, died of cancer Tuesday at a hospital in Seaford, Del.

A memorial service for Mr. Fahey, who was 71, will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Watson-Yates Funeral Home in Seaford.

Since the establishment of the Port Authority in 1956, Mr. Fahey had worked with the fleet that includes work and tour boats. Mr. Fahey, who retired in 1980, had lived in the Seaford area since 1981. A native of Baltimore and a graduate of City College, he served in the Pacific with the Army during World War II.

He is survived by his wife, the former Ann Messick.

The family suggested memorial contributions to the American Red Cross, the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
