Two men are shot for lack of a match

August 28, 1992

A gunman in a car shot and critically wounded two men last night in the 2800 block of Longwood Street in West Baltimore, police said.

The victims told police they were standing at their car, parked near Hanlon Park, at 9:15 p.m. when an unidentified man pulled )) up in a car and asked for a match.

Both victims reportedly told the driver that they didn't have any matches, prompting the driver to pull out a gun and open fire on the men, police said. No information was available on where or how many times the men were shot.

They were identified as Daniel Brunson, 23, of the 3400 block of Bancroft Road, and Mark Lee, 22, of the 3500 block of Ingleside Ave. Both were listed in critical condition last night at Sinai Hospital.
