Hoping to duplicate the popularity of public transit at Camden Yards, the Mass Transit Administration is offering park-and-ride bus service to tonight's NFL preseason game at Memorial Stadium.

The buses will run from 12 locations, and the cost is $2 each way. Most of the buses will arrive in time for the pre-game activities at 7 p.m.

The MTA also is encouraging fans to take the local buses (Nos. 3, 22 and 36) that serve Memorial Stadium. Special shuttle buses will be available from Lake Montebello for 50 cents a trip.

An average of 1,500 people have been taking park-and-ride buses to Orioles games. Typically, more than 7,000 take some form of mass transit to the games.
