Police charge teen in Severn melee

County police charged an Annapolis man with battery and resisting arrest after officers were called Monday night to calm an unruly crowd at the Elks Lodge in Severn.

The officers were sent to the lodge, in the 800 block of Stevenson Road, at 11:30 p.m.

When they arrived, they found a man kicking the door of a car.

Officer Greg Overstreet grabbed the man, and the two began fighting.

A second man, identified as Kenneth Savoy, 18, joined the fight and tried to free the first man.

The man who was found kicking the car escaped.

Police charged Mr. Savoy, of the 1800 block of Copeland Street, with disorderly conduct and destruction of property.

* Odenton: 1200 block of Annapolis Road: Aug. 23, entry gained through the window. Money and other property taken. Total loss: $1,600.

* Pasadena: 8100 block of Towerbridge Drive: Aug. 20, entry gained through the door. Appliances and jewelry taken. Total loss: $3,000.

First block of Fleetwood Court: Aug. 21, entry gained through the door. Money and jewelry taken. Total loss: $775.

800 block of Swift Road: Aug. 23, entry gained through the door. Money taken. Total loss: $1,300.

8500 block of Fort Smallwood Road: Aug. 21. Money taken. Total loss: Unknown.
