Armed pair robs Pasadena gas station

Two men, one armed with a semiautomatic pistol, robbed a Pasadena gas station Sunday evening, county police reported.

The robbers walked into the Southdale Shell station in the 7900 block of Ritchie Highway at 7 p.m. and told the clerk to "hand over the money," investigators said

The men were last seen running south on Ritchie Highway toward Route 100.

Police described both suspects as black men, wearing black starter jackets with gold trim and black pants. Both men appeared to be in their late teens.

Woman, 27, arrested on drugs charge

A 27-year-old Prince George's County woman stopped for going through a red light in Annapolis Sunday was arrested on a drug charge after police allegedly found a crack pipe in her purse.

A city police officer pulled over Peggy Sue Philman of Upper Marlboro about 6:40 p.m. for failing to stop for a red light at Taylor and West streets, a block from the police station.

After she pulled out her wallet to get her driver's license, the officer searched her purse and allegedly discovered a homemade crack pipe and two small bags with cocaine residue.

Police investigate suspected assault

Annapolis police are investigating a report that a 5-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by a friend of her mother's.

The mother called the police and the Protective Services division of the county Department of Social Services late Saturday after noticing marks that indicated her daughter had been molested,

police said.

City woman arrested on prostitution charge

A plainclothes Annapolis police officer arrested a woman on a prostitution charge Saturday night after she allegedly offered to perform a sexual act for $20.

The woman, identified by police as 30-year-old Brenda Lee Dalton, of no fixed address, was at the corner of West Street and Southgate Avenue when the officer drove by in an unmarked van at 11:30 p.m. Saturday, police said.

Annapolis police said the woman had been arrested last spring during a crackdown on prostitution on West Street. Police have continued sporadic undercover investigations to deter the activity, which became much more visible last winter.

14-year-old robbed of bicycle

A 14-year-old boy told police he was robbed of his bicycle Sunday night by a group of 15 to 20 youths.

The boy was riding his bike in the parking lot of the Southview Shopping Center in Brooklyn Park about 8:15 p.m. when he was approached by the group of teen-agers and forced off his bike, police said yesterday.
