Ski-masked men rob Roy Rogers
Two men wearing ski masks robbed a fast-food restaurant manager late Monday night, county police reported.
According to investigators, the manager of Roy Rogers in the 3100 block of Solomons Island Road was getting into his car outside the restaurant at 11:25 when two robbers jumped from the bushes and said they had a gun.
They demanded money, and the manager complied. Police used dogs to track the men to the parking lot of the Safeway grocery store on Mayo Road, where they lost the trail.
Police discover 47 marijuana plants
Narcotics investigators found 47 marijuana plants at an Arnold home Friday night.
Officers said they served a search warrant at a home in the 1300 block of Ritchie Highway at 10:15 p.m. They found two rooms which had been used for growing the plants 47 plants were worth about $12,075.
Officers charged Sandra Bookhultz, 28, of the 1300 block of Ritchie Highway, with distribution of marijuana.
Police were seeking a second suspect yesterday.
Hitchhiker sought for raping woman
A 49-year-old woman told police a man she had given a ride to early yesterday morning raped her near Bestgate Road.
Detectives said the woman came out of her apartment in Annapolis at 1:25 a.m. and saw a man standing near her car. The man began talking to her, and she gave him a ride to another apartment complex.
The man forced her to drive to Research Road, near Bestgate Road, where he raped her.
She described her attacker as a clean-shaven black man with a medium build.
Glen Burnie man charged in shooting
County police have charged a Glen Burnie man with reckless endangerment after he shot at a man who was standing outside his home Tuesday night.
Kevin Charles Anthony Gunther, 22, of the first block of Cedar Drive, also was charged with assault and with using a deadly weapon with intent to injure.
According to the police report, Brian Lee Kelliher, 18, of the 7600 block of Spencer Road in Glen Burnie, was walking past Mr. Gunther's home at 11:45 p.m. when Mr. Gunther called him.
Mr. Kelliher, who knows Mr. Gunther, acknowledged him. Mr. Gunther fired a 12-gauge shotgun at Mr. Kelliher, but missed, police said.
Investigators later arrested Mr. Gunther at North Arundel Hospital, where he had gone for treatment.
Woman charged in assault case
A 25-year-old Annapolis woman who allegedly threatened her ex-boyfriend with a steak knife and then advanced on a police officer was charged with assault Monday night, police said.
Roena P. Watson, of the 400 block of Captain's Circle, was arrested shortly after 7, police said she attempted to stab her former boyfriend. The man did not want to press charges, but police officers arrested her when she walked toward them with the steak knife.
