Pvt. Christian H. Dowdy has completed training at the U.S. Army Infantry School at Fort Benning Ga.
Students received training which qualified them as light-weapons infantrymen and as indirect-fire crewmen in a rifle or mortar squad.

Airman Meadows completes basic
Air National Guard Airman Kevin K. Meadows has graduated from Air Force basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas.
During the six weeks of training the airman studied Air Force mission, organization and customs and received special training human relations.
In addition, airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Airman Meadows is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Johnson ofBel Air.

Marine Pfc. Charles C. Guido, son of Nancy M. and Charles C. Guido of Baldwin, recently completed recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C., and was promoted to his present rank.

Marine Lance Cpl. Terrance R. Venable, son of retired Army Master Sgt. and Mrs. Ronald M. Venable of Belcamp, recently completed recruit training and was meritoriously promoted to his present rank. The 1989 graduate of Aberdeen High School and 1991 graduate of Frostburg State University, Frostburg, joined the Marine Corps in March 1992.

Navy's Bancroft reports for duty
Navy Petty Officer 1st Class Randy S. Bancroft, son of Herbert M. and Linda M. Bancroft of Havre de Grace recently reported for duty aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima, which has a home port of Norfolk, Va.

Seaman B.F. Smith graduates prep school
Navy Seaman Apprentice Brian F. Smith, son of Michael X. and Mary E. Smith of Baldwin, recently graduated from the Naval Academy Preparatory School.
During the yearlong course at the Naval Education and Training Center, Newport, R.I., students are prepared for entry into the U.S. Naval Academy or the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.
Studies included English, mathematics, science and general military subjects. Participation in an extensive physical fitness program is also included in the course.
Cadet Polhamus is commissioned
Army Cadet John A. Polhamus has been commissioned a second lieutenant upon graduation from the U.S. Military Academy, West Point, N.Y., and awarded a bachelor of science degree.
The academy is a four-year educational institution, charged with the task of training young Americans to become professional Army officers.
The lieutenant is scheduled for assignment to the aviation branch.
He is the son of James M. and Faye E. Polhamus of Falls- ton.
Mr. Polhamus is a 1987 graduate of Fallston High School.
