Sgt. Winston reports to Andrews AFB

Air Force Staff Sgt. Clifford A. Winston, son of William E. and Myrtis Winston of Montgomery, Ala., has arrived for duty at Andrews Air Force Base in Camp Springs.

A 1977 graduate of Oakland Mills High School, Sergeant Winston is a wideband communications equipment technician.

2nd Lt. Brian Green a 'Distinction' grad

2nd Lt. Brian John Green, son of Dr. and Mrs. John Green of Ellicott City, was promoted to his current rank after graduating with "military distinction" from the United States Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo.

Recipient of a bachelor of science degree in Electrical Engineering, he is now attending communications school at Keelser Air Force Base, Miss., after which he will be assigned to Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs.

While at the academy, Lieutenant Green made the Dean's List every semester.

He also earned a place on the Commandant's Honor List and the Superintendent's Honor List each term.

A 1988 graduate of Centennial High School, the lieutenant played shortstop and pitcher on the academy softball team.

Kirk gets Pentagon duty in public affairs

Air Force Staff Sgt. Russell D. Kirk, son of Kerin M. Gallagher of Ellicott City and Donald E. Kirk of Frederick, has recently assumed duties as a public affairs technician at the Pentagon in Arlington, Va.

Sergeant Kirk is a 1979 graduate of Mount Hebron High School.

In 1979 he received a bachelor's degree from the Southern Illinois University military extension at Pope Air Force Base, N.C.
