City woman, 70, is found slain

August 13, 1992

A 70-year-old Baltimore woman was found dead in her home just before dawn yesterday after someone stabbed her twice in the chest, city homicide detectives said.

The woman was identified as Lillian Dupont of the 1800 block of W. Pratt St.

She had been stabbed in the heart with a knife, police said.

She was found by a man who lives in the house, Jessie Malcolm, 57, who told investigators that he returned home just before 3 a.m. and found the woman bleeding and with a pillow covering her face.

Mr. Malcolm flagged down a city police officer driving by outside. Ms. Dupont was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said they had no motive for the crime, and no arrests had been made last night. Mr. Malcolm was questioned by detectives and released.

The slaying raised to 198 the number of people killed in the city this year -- 20 more than for this same time last year.
