Convenience store robbed in Pasadena

A gunman robbed a Pasadena convenience store of an undisclosed amount of cash Tuesday, county police said yesterday.

According to police, the gunman walked into the Royal Farms store in the 8400 block of Fort Smallwood Road at 4:20 a.m. and demanded money.

A clerk gave money to the robber, who was last seen driving north on Fort Smallwood Road in a blue Chevrolet Monte Carlo with Washington, D.C., license plates, police said.

Fairfield Home patient says nurse hit him

A patient at Fairfield Nursing Home in Crownsville told police a nurse hit him Monday because he pressed his emergency call button too often.

According to the police report, the 78-year-old patient in the home said a nurse hit him on the arm and then threw his call button on the floor.

The man, a stroke victim, has been a patient in the home, in the 1400 block of Fairfield Loop Road, since last December.

Police questioned the nurse, who denied hitting the patient. No charges were filed, and officials at the home said they would investigate the incident.

Woman, 64, robbed by teen in Glen Burnie

A teen-ager grabbed an envelope containing money from a 64-year-old woman yesterday afternoon in Glen Burnie, county police said.

Police said Mary Elizabeth Vogel of Dundalk was walking with her 2-year-old grandson at about 3 p.m. in the 1500 block of Ingalls Road, between the Harundale and the Marley Station malls, when the two were approached by a youth who asked directions.

Ms. Vogel told police that the youth grabbed the envelope and ran east on Houghton Road, toward Ritchie Highway. She described him as 15 or 16 years old, and wearing a white shirt and gray jeans.

No one was hurt. Police did not say how much money was taken.
