No serious injuries in 2-horse spill

August 10, 1992

A two-horse spill at the one-sixteenth pole sent two horses and jockeys to the track in the fifth race at Laurel.

Mighty Floppy, with Danny Wright aboard, fell and Lauren's J.O., ridden by Walter Guerra, fell over Mighty Floppy. Both horses were up and running quickly. Wright eventually got to his feet, but Guerra did not.

Wright was uninjured and, after an examination by the track doctor, Guerra was taken off the rest of his mounts on the card as a precaution. The Laurel medical staff said Guerra was "alert, moving everything and just resting until he feels better."
