Fennell is lieutenant

Air Force 2nd Lt. Thomas E. Fennell, son of Frank F. and Bettye J. Fennell of Columbia, was promoted to his current rank after graduating from the United States Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo.

Recipient of a bachelor of science degree, Lieutenant Fennell will attend pilot training at Laughlin Air Force Base, Del Rio, Texas.

Edgerton given medal

Navy Petty Officer 1st Class David A. Edgerton, son of Georgie M. Edgerton of Mount Airy, recently received the Navy Achievement Medal.

Petty Officer Edgerton was honored for his superior duty performance as electronic warfare training petty officer with Patrol Squadron 30, Jacksonville Naval Air Station, Fla.

He joined the Navy in September 1977.

Montague promoted

Marine Sgt. Bruce I. Montague, son of Kenneth C. and Mary D. Montague of Elkridge, was promoted to his present rank while serving with the 1st Force Service Support Group, Camp Pendleton, Calif.

Sergeant Montague is a 1979 graduate of Howard High School.

Hicks is graduate

Navy Airman Apprentice Jason M. Hicks, son of David B. Hicks of Elkridge, has graduated from the Basic Avionics Technician Course at Naval Air Station Memphis, Millington, Tenn.

A 1991 graduate of Howard High School, Airman Hicks joined the Navy in August 1991.

Holland at Andrews

Air Force Capt. Francis T. Holland, son of Michael J. Holland and Toni K. Holland, both of Columbia, has arrived for duty at Andrews Air Force Base.

A physical medicine physician, Captain Holland is a 1982 grad of Mount St. Joseph High School in Baltimore and a 1986 graduate of Tulane University in New Orleans.

Plum aboard carrier

Navy Petty Officer 1st Class David L. Plum recently reported for duty aboard the aircraft carrier

USS Theodore Roosevelt, home-ported in Norfolk, Va.

A 1978 graduate of Atholton High, Petty Officer Plum joined the Navy in September 1978.

Pfeiffer in California

Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class John E. Pfeiffer, son of John R. and Mary M. Pfeiffer of Baltimore, reported for duty at Naval Air Station North Island, San Diego.

Petty Officer Pfeiffer joined the Navy in June 1984 after graduating from Howard County High.
