Joseph E. Lippy Jr., a computer consultant and chemist who was active in musical groups in Baltimore and Philadelphia, died Wednesday at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center of injuries received in an auto accident on the John F. Kennedy Highway east of the city line Tuesday.
A memorial service for Mr. Lippy, who was 51 and recentlmoved from Baltimore to Harleysville, Pa., was conducted yesterday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Westminster.
Another memorial service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. today at Christ Church, United Church of Christ in Norristown, Pa.
AMr. Lippy was a computer consultant, specializing on their use in medical technology.
Educated as a chemist, he worked for many years in the Norristown area selling metal coatings, working with a program to provide jobs for the retarded. In addition to computer work, he operated his own environmental research company that developed a patented pollution-reducing procedure for burning trash.
