Man charged in bank robbery, robbery try

A Baltimore man has been arrested and charged with a July 28 bank robbery and a July 15 bank robbery attempt, the FBI reports.

Christopher Antonio Gibson, 32, of the 2900 block of Presbury St., was arrested at 9 a.m. yesterday at his home.

OC He is charged with the July 28 robbery of the Maryland National

Bank branch in the 3200 block of U.S. 1, in which a man claiming to have a gun took an undisclosed amount of cash.

He also is charged with attempted robbery of the Bank of Baltimore's main office, at 1 E. Baltimore St., in which a man claiming to be armed left without any money after a teller set off an alarm.

A teller from one of the banks positively identified Mr. Gibson from a photo lineup, the FBI said.

The alleged driver of the getaway car in the Maryland National Bank robbery, Robert Nathaniel Brown, 34, of the 3200 block of Grayson St., was charged as an accomplice in the robbery, the FBI said.
