Shooting on Edmondson Ave. kills woman sitting in car

August 05, 1992

A 19-year-old city woman was killed yesterday afternoon when a gunman opened fire at a parked car in Southwest Baltimore, police said.

Witnesses said they saw a 1983 Toyota Supra automobile parked in the 3600 block of Edmondson Ave. at 12:30 p.m., with a man and a woman sitting inside, when an unidentified man approached the car.

The two men began arguing with each other, and the man outside the car pulled out a gun and fired two shots, police said.

One of the shots struck the head of the woman, who was in the passenger seat, police said. Her male companion jumped out of the car and ran off.

The gunman was seen removing an unknown object from the back seat of the car, police said.

The victim, who was not identified last night, was pronounced dead at the scene.
