Mets four-hit Suns, 6-2

HAGERSTOWN -- Jose Martinez threw a four-hitter to lead the Binghamton Mets to a 6-2 victory over the Hagerstown Suns in a Double-A Eastern League game last night.

Martinez (3-0) walked one and struck out five. Both runs were earned.

Hagerstown starter John Polasek (1-2) took the loss, giving up five runs and seven hits in four innings.

Bert Hunter and Brook Fordyce had two hits and two RBI each for the Mets, who scored three runs in the first and built a 5-1 lead after four innings.
