POLICEMAN ASSAULTED: Northwestern District -- Officer Anthony McGlinn was attempting to arrest a man in the 3700 block of Arcadia Ave. yesterday afternoon for a narcotic offense when the man bit him. Police said the officer was not seriously injured and received medical treatment at a hospital. Omar Carter, 22, of the 3800 block of W. Garrison Ave., was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine paraphernalia and assaulting an officer. Police said Mr. Carter was held overnight at the station pending a bail hearing today before a District Court commissioner.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- A resident of the 3200 block of Normandy Woods in Ellicott City told police he was in the 4400 block of Wabash Ave. shortly before 10 p.m. yesterday when he was accosted by a man armed with a handgun who demanded his money. Police said the gunman fled on foot with more than $100.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- Police said a man armed with a gun accosted a resident of the 2400 block of Loyola Southway as he walked in the 4100 block of Pimlico Road and ordered him to turn over his money. Police said the victim complied, giving the gunman less than $7.

RAPE: Northwestern District -- A Northwest Baltimore woman reported she was raped by a man who gave her a ride to the 3200 block of Woodland Ave. The woman told police that when the car stopped in the 3200 block of Woodland Ave. about 1 a.m. Wednesday, the man forced her down onto the seat and raped her. She was able to get out of the car and reported the attack. She was taken to a hospital for treatment.

ASSAULT: Northwestern District -- A resident of 3600 block of Lucille Ave. told police that inside his house early yesterday a man he knows stabbed him with a knife. Police said the victim was treated at University of Maryland Medical Center and released. Later, police arrested a suspect and were holding him at the station pending charges and a bail hearing before a District Court commissioner.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- Two men accosted a woman at Mondawmin Mall yesterday afternoon and robbed her of her jewelry. The victim, a resident of the 800 block of W. Fayette St., told police she was at the mall shortly after 2 p.m. when she was stopped by two men who demanded her jewelry.

RAPE: Northwestern District -- A woman told police she was forced to accompany a man into a vacant house in the 4700 block of Reisterstown Road yesterday morning. The woman told police the man brandished a knife before raping her. Police said the woman was freed by the man and police took her to a hospital for treatment.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A resident of the 3900 block of Clarks Lane reported he was near the conservatory in Druid Hill ** Park Wednesday night when he was accosted by a man armed with a handgun who placed the weapon to his head and demanded his money. Police said the victim gave up nearly $150 to the gunman, who fled on foot.

ASSAULT: Northwestern District -- A woman was assaulted Wednesday night in the 3600 block of Beehler Ave. by a man who struck her several times with a baseball bat. Police said the victim was taken to Liberty Medical Center, where she was treated and released. Police said no arrest had been made and that they knew of no motive for the assault.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- Police reported a man armed with a handgun robbed a woman Wednesday night while she was walking near her home. The victim reported she was walking near her home about 9 p.m. when she was approached by a gunman who demanded her money and valuables. Police said the woman gave the gunman cash and property, all valued at more than $300.

SHOOTING: Western District -- A resident of the 1100 block of N. Carey St. was shot early yesterday in the 2000 block of Edmondson Ave. Police said the victim was walking on the street when he was shot in the right side of the stomach by a gunman who approached him shortly before 2 a.m. A second bullet grazed the man in the head. Police said the victim was in fair condition today at Maryland Shock Trauma Center. Police said the victim was not cooperating in the investigation.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Police today were seeking a 60-year-old in the armed robbery Wednesday night of a man in the 600 block of Ashburton St. The victim, a resident of the 3700 block of Harlem Ave., told police he was drinking with a man about 10 p.m. when the man pulled a knife and robbed him of his wallet. Police said the robber escaped with about $11.

ASSAULT: Western District -- Police said a resident of the 1100 block of N. Fulton Ave. was in the 1200 block of N. Fulton Ave. late Wednesday night when someone in a group of men walking near him fired two shots. Police said the man was not injured. Police said they knew of no motive for the shooting. No arrests have been made.
