Atlanta Braves -- Placed P Mike Bielecki (torn ligament in his pitching elbow) on the 60-day disabled list. Recalled P Pete Smith from Triple-A Richmond.

Los Angeles Dodgers -- Acquired P Mike Sodders to complete an earlier trade that sent Kal Daniels to the Chicago Cubs.

Milwaukee Brewers -- Announced the resignation of traveling secretary Jimmy Bank.

New York Mets -- Acquired C Scott Bradley from the Cincinnati Reds for a player to be named, and assigned Bradley to Triple-A Tidewater.

New York Yankees -- Signed manager Buck Showalter to a three-year contract extension.
