Barrett rebounds with Head Pro win

LAKE MANASSAS, Va. -- Glen Barrett rolled in an eight-foot birdie putt on the fourth extra hole to capture the annual Head Pro championship of the Middle Atlantic PGA at the demanding 7,000-yard Robert Trent Jones Golf Club yesterday.

Barrett, a playoff loser for the Maryland Open title two weeks ago, Bud Lintelman, and host pro Jim Muething tied at 4-over-par 148, after Marty O'Rear and Butch Butler fell out with bogeys at the 18th hole to finish at 149.

Muething went out with a three-putt bogey at the second hole, and the two survivors bogeyed the third to get to the 212-yard fourth. Lintelman knocked his tee shot into a pond fronting the green, and Barrett followed with a 4-iron shot to the green.
