PG woman convicted of drug smuggling at BWI

A Prince George's County woman pleaded guilty yesterday in Circuit Court to smuggling more than half a pound of cocaine into the country from Jamaica in a condom hidden in her body.

Mary E. Kent, 29, of Capitol Heights, was stopped and searched by customs officials at Baltimore-Washington International Airport after she arrived on an Air Jamaica flight from Montego Bay on April 4. Officials found 251 grams of cocaine in a condom hidden in the woman's vagina.

She pleaded guilty yesterday to one count of bringing cocaine into the state.

Prior to Kent's sentencing on Sept. 14, she will be given a psychiatric evaluation at her attorney's request.
