Championship winners

Carol Gailey won the championship flight of the two-day Stroke Play Championship over the July 11-12 weekend at Piney Branch Golf Course.

Gailey outdid the nearest competition by three strokes with a score of 147. Bob Rosenberger followed Gailey with a score of 150, and Charlie Palmer took third place by shooting 152.

Mike Mesch won the first flight with a score of 154; Tony Snecha won the second flight by shooting 164. The third flight went to Ralph Lilley who shot 170, and Steve Golding won the fourth flight with a score of 173.

Bear Creek Golf Course Men's Twilight League saw Bill Welch win with the low gross score of 38, while John Light had the best low net score with 35.

Carroll Hall and Cliff Metten won with the low net of 57 in the Tuesday Night Men's Senior League. The Senior League used a single best ball in a three-man tournament.

*At Piney Brnach, Steve Yount, Eric Herman, Bill Lancaster and Jay Gwynn scored 202 to win the four-man gross in the Member-Guest tournament on July 17. Winning the four-man net were Jim and Arch Staymates, Mike Hennessy and Gerrard McDonald with a score of 273.

Winning the two-man low gross were Doug Jacobs and Bob Vespa with a score of 110. Denny Myers and Bob Maylor shot 146 to win the two-man net.
