Baltimore is the 13th most popular U.S. city for corporate and government employee relocations, according to a survey last week by PHH Homequity. Atlanta tops this year's list.

Baltimore ranked 14th in the relocation firm's survey last year and has been one of the top 15 cities only since 1990, when it was 15th, said

Keith Bisogno, marketing manager for PHH Homequity, a subsidiary of the Hunt Valley-based PHH Corp.

"This is absolutely a flattering statement about Baltimore," he said.

The survey of 75 metropolitan areas is based on figures kept by the corporation-relocation company, which has its offices in Wilton, Conn. Each city was ranked by the number of relocations in the most recent fiscal year, Mr. Bisogno said.

Noting that Atlanta was sixth last year, Harvey Auger, president of PHH Homequity, said, `Over the past several years, our annual surveys have identified a growing corporate presence in Southeast and Southwest cities.`
