A memorial service for Katherine Soper, who had been art director for department stores in Baltimore and in New York City, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Joseph Richey Hospice, 828 N. Eutaw St.
Mrs. Soper, who was 83, died Jan. 23 of heart failure at a hospital in New York City.
A native of Baltimore, she was a graduate of Western High School and the Maryland Institute College of Art.
In the 1940s, she was art director and fashion artist for Hutzler's and then moved to New York City, where she worked as an art director for Macy's, Gimbel's and Arnold Constable before her retirement in 1969.
She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Purdum of New York City.
