2 women charged with solicitation

County police vice officers arrested two Baltimore women in Brooklyn Park Wednesday and charged them with solicitation for prostitution.

Officers said they were posing as customers along Ritchie Highway at 9 p.m., when Betty Roxanne Metzger, 35, of the 1100 block of Sargeant Street, and Mary Lou Higgins, 28, of the 3800 block of Third Street, allegedly approached them and offered them sex.

Ms. Higgins also was charged with solicitation for lewdness, assault and battery and resisting arrest, police said.

In a separate incident Thursday, police charged Earl Horleman Kautz, 33, of the 900 block of Langdon Court in Annapolis, with solicitation for lewdness after an undercover officer said Mr. Kautz tried to get him to engage in a sexual act in the 2000 block of West Street in Annapolis.

The arrests are part of crack-down on prostitution in the county.
