* Marine Corps Chief Warrant Officer II Joseph R. Eagle recently graduated from the University of Maryland with a bachelor of science degree in business administration.
He maintained a 3.5 grade point average. He completed his degree requirements by attending night school at various universities throughout the world, wherever he was assigned for duty.
Warrant Officer Eagle and his wife, Diane, live in Eldersburg with their two sons, Brian and Timothy. Diane Eagle is the daughter of Samuel and Kathy Young of Sykesville.
He is currently stationed with the Military Postal Service Agency in Alexandria, Va.
* Navy Seaman Recruit Christopher M. VanSant, son of Michael R. VanSant of Mount Airy, recently completed basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.
During the cycle, recruits are taught general military subjects designed to prepare them for further academic and on-the-job training in one of the Navy's 85 occupational fields.
* Marine Cpl. Kevin P. Buker, son of Martin J. Buker of Woodbine, recently received the Good Conduct Medal.
The medal recognizes the service member's honest and faithful service during a three-year period. He is currently assigned with Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron-29, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, Marine Corps Air Station New River, Jacksonville, N.C.
The 1986 South Carroll High School graduate joined the Marine Corps in May 1989.
* Marine Pfc. Jason E. Aldrich recently completed recruit training and was meritoriously promoted to his present rank.
During the training cycle at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C., recruits are taught the basics of battlefield survival, military daily routine and personal and professional standards.
He is a 1991 graduate of Francis Scott Key High School.
