Libraries offer services

The county public library system is one of the busiest in the nation, with 14 branches providing a variety of information and entertainment.

The system's inventory includes about 300,000 books and magazines for all reading levels, 10,000 records, and 1,500 cassettes for children. Regular story times are scheduled for children between the ages of 2 and 5.

Readers may choose from 500,000 books, including science fiction, mysteries, best-sellers, self-help books and others; 3,000 magazines and newspapers; 50,000 records, 25,000 cassettes and compact discs; and 5,000 videocassettes.
