Peterson gets designation

Ms. Hannelore (Lore) Peterson, a sales associate with Long & Foster Realtors in Odenton, has earned the prestigious G.R.I. (Graduate Realtor's Institute) designation of advanced real estate education.

An eight-year real estate professional, Peterson is an active member of the Anne Arundel Board of Realtors.

Peterson has frequently been cited as a top real estate producer, and is a member of Long & Fosters' Executive Club and the Distinguished Sales Achievement Club. She has also earned praise as Top Monthly Producer, and is one of the top five Producers of the Year in the Odenton office.

Goldberg welcomed

Jones Intercable recently welcomed Mr. Ted Goldberg as direct sales manager.

His responsibilities include managing, supervising and setting the direction for the sales department, as well as sales training system-wide.

Goldberg has 12 years of sales management experience in the cable television industry, including five years with Dimension Cable in Phoenix, Ariz.

Recently elected officers

The Anne Arundel Trade Council recently elected a new slate of officers for the 1992-93 program year beginning July 1.

Mr. Bertrand A. Mason, president of Alliance Property Corporation, was elected president. Mason was most recently vice president of the Council for two terms. Mr. Andrew R. Lombardo, managing partner of C.W. Amos & Company, was elected vice president; Mr. Arthur Ebersberger, executive vice president of The Ebersberger Companies, is the new secretary; Mr. Gregory E. Masi, sales associate with Casey & Associates, became the new treasurer.

The following Trade Council members were elected to serve three-year terms on the Board of Directors:

Ms. Kathryn J. Dahl, resident partner of Linowes & Blocher; Mr. Bruce S. Hughes, president of Hughes, Wilson & Associates; Mr. Edward L. Ladd, general manager of Marley Station Mall; Mr. Nicholas Lambrow, vice president of First National Bank of Maryland; Mr. Daniel W. McNew, president of McNew Culligan Water Treatment Systems Inc.; Mr. Richard J. Morgan, president of Annapolis National Bank; Mr. Terry C. Smith, director of Community & External Affairs, Westinghouse Electronic Systems Group; Mr. James Stone, district manager of Browning-Ferris Industries; Ms. Deborah G. Turner, president of Turner Pension Consultants Inc.; and Mr. Herbert L. Zorn, President of Admiral Envelope & Printing Co. In addition, Ms. Patricia Roche, partner with Roche-Rooney, was elected to fill a term ending July 1, 1994.

Ms. Diane F. Sears will be sworn in as the new postmaster of the Jessup Post Office on Friday, July 10.

Sears joined the Postal Service in 1974 as a clerk-typist for the Postal Inspection Service in Washington, D.C., and is presently the administrative coordinator for the Division General Manager/Postmaster of the Southern Maryland Division.

She succeeds John L. R. Elliott, Jr., who is presently postmaster of the Ft. Meade Post Office.

Sears will be responsible for an office with 20 employees, seven rural route deliveries, 1,054 lock boxes and serving a population of approximately 10,000.

Towers elected president

Arnold resident Ms. D. Romaine Towers, CPIW, has been elected president elect of the National Association of Insurance Women, headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Towers will serve in the post one year, and become NAIW president during 1993-1994. She has been a member of the NAIW board in a variety of posts since 1985.

Since 1956 Towers has worked for Nationwide Insurance Co., where she is personal lines division manager.

Butler promoted

Ms. Belinda Butler, an award-winning art director, has been promoted to Advertising Director at Crosby Communications, an Annapolis-based marketing communications company.

Ms. Butler will take the lead in creating advertising campaigns and communications programs for Crosby's clients.

Previously employed with J. Walter Thompson, in Washington, D.C., and Gray, Kirk & Evans in Baltimore, Butler joined Crosby in 1990.

BTR Realty, Inc., a nationwide owner and operator of shopping centers, office and industrial buildings, has announced that Mr. M. Ronald Lipman, a partner and founder of the real estate consulting firm of Lipman, Firzzell and Mitchell, has been elected to BTR's Board of Directors.

Mr. Lipman, a prominent Maryland appraiser and real estate consultant for more than 30 years, has taught real estate techniques at various area colleges and universities.
