FINKSBURG — Evelyn J. Miller, 79, a former resident here, died Sunday at the Presbyterian Home in Towson. She was the wife of the late Paul B. Miller. Survivors include sons, the Rev. H. Franklin Miller of Finksburg and William D. Miller of Florida; sister, Helen Fortney of Pennsylvania; brother, William K. Johnson of West Virginia; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.


Marie G. Thomas, 92, died Monday at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Ralph C. Thomas Sr. and the mother of the late Ann M. Frazier, Edna L. Frazier, Mary L. Thomas and Marshall F. Thomas. A devout Catholic, she was a member of St. John Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters of America, the St. Peter Claver Society and the Catholic Charities of America Organization. Survivors include sons, Ralph C. Thomas Jr. of Virginia, Lawrence S. Thomas of Frederick, and Clarence R. Thomas of California; daughters, Theresa Fredericks New York, Doris Louis of Ocean City, Margaret Waller of Westminster, Veronica Bailey of New York and Celeste Johnson of Mount Airy; 25 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at St. John the Evangelist Church, 116 E. 2nd St. Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. today at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, where a Christian wake service will be at 8 p.m. today.


Frank L. Bushey, 85, died Monday in York, Pa., from injuries received in a car accident. He was the husband of the late Virginia Grimm Bushey and the father of the late Margaret E. Bushey. A retired farmer, he was the past president of the Carroll County Farm Bureau. He also was past president and charter member of Winfield Volunteer Fire Department. Several nieces and nephews survive. The family requests memorial contributions to Messiah Lutheran Church, where he was a longtime member.


Helen Greenholtz Haines, 96, died Tuesday at Carroll County General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Earl Cleveland Haines and the mother of the late Adelia Nusbaum and Ralph and Robert Haines. Survivors include children, Marie Gumpper of Florida, Raymond E. Haines of New Windsor, Richard E. Haines of Taneytown, Geraldine Kinsey of California, Russell Haines of Fairfield, Pa., and Romanus Haines of Emmitsburg; sister, Adelia Duvall of Linwood; brother, Raymond Greenholtz of Westminster; grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren.


Thomas H. Jenkins, 41, died Tuesday at his home. He was the son of David K. and Betty Bollinger Jenkins of Frostburg. He was the husband of Eva Cutter Jenkins. A resident maintenance engineer, he worked for the State Highway Department. He was a member of the National Guard and the Deer Park United Methodist Church. In addition to his wife and parents, survivors include children, Adam, Eric and Heather Jenkins, all of home; brothers, David L. Jenkins of Westminster and Michael Jenkins of Frostburg; and a sister, Linda Lastbaugh of Virginia.
