Jose C. Feltman Public school teacher

Jose C. Feltman, who taught in Baltimore public schools for 33 years, died of Parkinson's disease May 26 at her home in Virginia Beach, Va. She was 87.

She was a 1922 graduate of Western High School and attended the old two-year Normal School at Lafayette and Carrollton avenues and the Maryland State Normal School, now Towson State University.

Before retiring in 1965, she taught at Govans Elementary, Margaret Brent Elementary and School No. 23.

A brief marriage ended in divorce. She lived in Florida and Richmond, Va., before settling about six years ago near her daughter, Margaret Caranne Thiele, in Virginia Beach.

In addition to her daughter, she is survived by a granddaughter, Dr. Anne Thiele Blackerby of Birmingham, Ala.; and a great-grandson.

A memorial service was held May 29 at Old Donation Episcopal Church in Virginia Beach.
