July 01, 1992

A 23-year-old man was shot six times with a semiautomatic weapon late last night by a man who chased him down an alley in the Pimlico area, city police said.

The victim, Ronald Thomas, of the 4500 block of Park Heights Ave., told police he was in the 4800 block of Palmer Ave. about 11 p.m. when a man with a Tech-9 semiautomatic machine pistol called out, "Come here, I'm going to shoot you."

Mr. Thomas said he ran into an alley in the rear of the 4800 block of Palmer Ave. as the gunman followed and opened fire.

He was wounded three times in the right leg, two times in the left leg and once in the right elbow.

The gunman, an 18-year-old known to Mr. Thomas as "Davon," fled when the victim ran onto the rear porch of a house, police said.

Police said Mr. Thomas was taken inside by residents, who dialed 911 and requested an ambulance.

Mr. Thomas was listed in good condition today at Sinai Hospital.

Police said they had no motive for the shooting.
