WESTMINSTER -- The seventh annual Western Maryland College Summer Band Camp Concert, featuring middle and high school student musicians from schools across Maryland, will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in WMC's Decker College Center Forum.
The concert is free and open to the public.
The performance, directed by camp leader Jay Bocook, is the highlight of the week-long residential camp. Bocook, former professor of music and director of bands at Furman University in Greenville, S.C., leads the young players through exercises designed to improve their musical skills.
At the end of the week, the classes get together to perform selections in a concert setting.
For information about the concert and next year's band camp, call Linda Kirkpatrick, lecturer in music at WMC, at 848-7494.
