Maryse K. Kudner Headed musical group

Maryse Kern Kudner died of a brain tumor at her Grasonville home Tuesday. She was 60.

Born in Lille, France, Mrs. Kudner was educated at Notre Dame, de la Trille and the Universite de Lille. She immigrated to the United States in 1959 and lived in Washington, D.C., until moving to Wilmington, Del.

Mrs. Kudner married Arthur H. Kudner, owner of Tidewater Publishing Corp. in Centreville, in January 1976. Her interest in music inspired her involvement with the Philadelphia Ancient Instruments Society, the Wilmington School of Music and the St. Paul's Episcopal Church Choir in Centreville.

Mrs. Kudner was a past president of the Midshore Symphony Society and served on the board of the Kent School in Chestertown. She worked on the Attorney Grievance Commission of Maryland until she became ill more than one year ago.

She is survived by her husband; her mother, Georgette Hourriez Kern; one brother, Andre Kern of Ville Neuve, D'asca, in France; three daughters, Catherine Gac of Minneapolis, Barry Kudner of Annapolis and Ariana Kudner of Grasonville; two sons, Alden Gibbs of Annapolis and Arthur Kudner III of Washington, D.C.; and four grandsons.

A memorial service was held Friday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Centreville.
