Lisa M. Schaub of Fallston was selected by Mary Washington College in Virginia for membership in Phi Beta Kappa, the nation's oldest and most prestigious academic honor society. Ms. Schaub, a senior majoring in business administration, has also been named to the President's List at the college for earning all As.

Loyola College senior Amy Lee Kelly has been selected as a 1992 Baltimore Sun/Independent College Fund of Maryland (ICFM) scholar. Ms. Kelly was given the $2,000 scholarship award based on her academic record and her commitment to community service.

Dr. Rita Colwell, president of the Maryland Biotechnology Institute, has been awarded an honorary life membership to the Bangladesh Society of Microbiologists in recognition of her contributions to microbiology and for her dedication to training Bangladeshi microbiologists.

Dr. Eric J. Hovland of Millersville has been named Administrator of the Year by the Maryland Association of Higher Education. Mr. Hovland is the chairman of the Department of Endodontics at Baltimore College of Dental Surgery, University of Maryland.

Doris K. Lidtke of Baltimore, professor of computer and information sciences at Towson State University, has begun a one-year assignment at the National Science Foundation in Washington. Ms. Lidtke will serve as an NSF project director, reviewing and making recommendations on undergraduate courses, curricula, instrumentation and faculty development in computer science.
