One person was killed and three others were injured last night when two cars, one going the wrong way, collided on Interstate 795 near Pikesville in Baltimore County.

State police at the Golden Ring barracks said Randi S. Friedman, 24, of the 3800 block of Cassandra Road in Randallstown, was driving a 1991 Dodge Daytona south in the northbound lane of the Northwest Expressway near Mount Wilson Lane at 10 p.m. when she collided head-on with a northbound 1992 Buick driven by Senta M. Smith, 21, of Tujunga, Calif.

Police said the cars collided in the middle lane of the three-lane highway.

The collision, said police, killed Rey Benjamin Garcia, 18, also of Tujunga, a passenger in the Buick. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Injured and taken by ambulance to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center and listed today in serious condition was Mr. Garcia's sister, Barbara Lee Garcia, 21, also of Tujunga, and Miss Friedman.

Police said Senta Smith was taken by ambulance to Carroll County General Hospital, where she was admitted. The hospital said today that she was in stable condition.

Police said traffic charges against Miss Friedman were pending her release from the hospital.
