Travis Tritt at music fest

Have an affinity for country music? The second annual Tangier Sound Country Music Festival will be held Saturday in Crisfield, about an hour from Ocean City on the Chesapeake Bay. Among the performers will be Travis Tritt, Highway 101, Pam Tillis and Holly Dunn. Organized activities for children also are planned. The first festival attracted 14,000 people. Summer volleyball

If you're looking for something more active, try a game of beach volleyball. The ie Volley Summer Series will take place Saturday and Sunday at the municipal volleyball courts at the Dorchester Street beach. The amateur tournament is open to the public. A free clinic will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday. Tournaments will run all day both days, beginning at 9 a.m. Categories include men's doubles, women's doubles, co-ed doubles, and men's triples, at all levels of skills. Sculpt shifting sand

The whole family can participate in the annual Sand Sculpture contest Tuesday at the Castle in the Sand Hotel, oceanfront at 37th Street. Prizes and trophies will be awarded for unique and creative sculptures. Registration will begin at 9 a.m. Judging will begin at 3 p.m. For more information, call (410) 289-6846.
