Home Builders scholarships
Jennifer Myers of Ellicott City and Anthony Peake of Laurel recently received $500 scholarships from the Howard County chapter of the Home Builders Association of Maryland.
Each year the chapter awards the scholarships to students from the Howard County School of Technology's Construction Trades Program. Myers was a senior in the drafting program and Peake studied in the carpentry program.
Lisk completes training
Robert G. Lisk, a partner in the Ear, Nose & Throat Specialty Group, which has offices in Columbia, successfully completed training at Sherman Hospital in Illinois for operating the YAG, KTPG and carbon dioxide laser used in otolaryngology and head and neck surgery.
Kaplow joins law firm
Weinberg and Green, a law firm with offices in Columbia, has announced that Stuart D. Kaplow, formerly associated with Frank, Bernstein, Conaway & Goldman, has joined the firm's real estate department.
Kaplow's practice will concentrate on land use and environmental law including planning and zoning.
He writes on land use and environmental topics and is one of the authors of the "Maryland Land Use Guide, 1992" published by the Maryland Chamber of Commerce.
Bavis on CPA panel
Bill Bavis, a partner with Bavis, Faggio and Associates, an accounting and management consulting firm located in Ellicott City, will be participating in the Litigation Support Services Committee for the Maryland Association of CPAs.
The committee acts as a liaison between the State Bar Association and the State Association of CPAs.
