Correction

June 17, 1992

A list compiled by the Associated Press and published June 12 in The Evening Sun about the personal finances of Maryland's congressional delegation inaccurately reported three items about Rep. Benjamin L. Cardin (D, 3rd). Here is the information Mr. Cardin filed in his annual public disclosure forms:

* His major assets included a trust fund valued at more than $1 million that his grandfather, Benjamin L. Green, created for the congressman's family. The trust fund generated between $15,000 and $50,000 in dividend and interest income.

* He received unearned income of between $2,500 and $5,000 and a distribution of between $5,000 and $15,000 from a Baltimore real estate partnership in which he has 2 percent interest.

* Mr. Cardin was not personally liable for mortgage debt shown in the published list; the debt was that of a partnership and a trust in which he had involvement.

The Evening Sun regrets the errors.
