AUTO THEFT/ARREST: Northern District -- Police arrested a 19-year-old Middle River man and his 16-year-old companion over the weekend after a car pursuit that began in the city's Hampden section and ended in Parkville. Officer John Brune reported he spotted a 1988 Chevrolet Camaro Z-28 going the wrong way in the 900 block of W. 36th St. around 7 p.m. Saturday and pursued it to the 28th Street bridge, where the car entered the Jones Falls Expressway and headed north into the county. In the 3800 block of Putty Hill Ave. in Parkville, the car stopped and the two occupants jumped out. Police said off-duty Baltimore County police Officer June Lemon saw the suspects attempting to flee and, along with Officer Brune, arrested them. The car was reported stolen earlier in the county. Police said the driver, John Brusio of the 2000 block of Larkhall Road, was charged with auto theft and multiple traffic violations and was held on $2,000 bail. Police said Mr. Brusio was wanted on a warrant charging him with failing to appear for trial for an unknown offense and was ordered held on $10,000 bail on that charge. The 16-year-old was charged with juvenile delinquency for fleeing and was released into the custody of a relative.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- A resident of the 2900 block of N. Calvert St. reported that someone broke into her home through an unlocked door over the weekend and stole a VCR valued at nearly $270.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Property valued at nearly $800 was stolen from a dwelling in the 6100 block of Northwood Drive over the weekend after someone forced a front window. The burglar escaped with a VCR and a TV set.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A woman reported she was walking toward her parked car at the Rotunda Mall in the 700 block of W. 40th St. Saturday night when she was assaulted from behind by a man who stole her purse containing cash and property, all valued at $80.

THEFT: Northern District -- A resident of the 400 block of E. Lorraine Ave. reported that a relative stole a compact disc player over the weekend and may have used it in the purchase of drugs.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A resident of the 1300 block of Roundhouse Court reported he was walking in the 2700 block of N. Charles St. around 9 p.m. Saturday when two men attacked him, cut his rear pocket with a knife and stole his wallet containing more than $100.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Police reported that someone forced a rear door of a dwelling in the 3900 block of Old York Road over the weekend and stole a lawn mower, plumbing supplies, screw gun, a saw and other pieces of construction equipment, all valued at more than $1,500.

THEFT: Northern District -- A student at Johns Hopkins University in the 3400 block of N. Charles St. reported that someone stole his locked multispeed bicycle on the campus. It was valued at $400.

ASSAULT: Northern District -- Police said a man was listed in stable condition today at the University of Maryland Medical Center after being attacked by several men inside Druid Hill Park Saturday evening. Police said Dwayne Veney, 19, of the 1700 block of Sherwood Ave., reported he was in the park around 8 p.m. when he was accosted by several men, one of whom was carrying a baseball bat. Police said the men struck Mr. Veney several times with the bat when he attempted to flee. The victim was treated for multiple lacerations.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A resident of the 900 block of Belgian Ave. told police she was walking in the 2900 block of Greenmount Ave. early yesterday when a man approached her from the rear and stole her purse containing less than $15.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Two men, one armed with a handgun, robbed a video store in the 1700 block of E. Northern Parkway yesterday. Police said the two entered the Video Store around 2:30 p.m. and forced an employee to give them the contents of a cash register, amounting to more than $100.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 5100 block of Conant Way reported she was walking in the 4500 block of Frankford Ave. late Friday night when she was approached from the rear by two men who shoved her to the ground and stole her purse, containing about $20.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- A 14-year-old resident of the 4400 block of Shamrock Ave. was riding his bicycle near his home around 3:30 p.m. yesterday when an older youth knocked him off the bike and stole it. Police said the victim was unhurt and the 26-inch mountain bicycle was valued at $100.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 5800 block of Waycross Road told police she was robbed yesterday as she walked alone near her home. Police said a man approached the 65-year-old victim from the rear and stole her purse containing cash and property valued at more than $200.
