New Community College of Baltimore is changing its name July 1 to Baltimore City Community College. The college also received a $62,000 grant from the National Science Foundation to develop a social and behavioral sciences computer laboratory that will be used to introduce students to computer-based social science research.

Manulife Financial, a division of Manufacturers Life Insurance Co., recently consolidated its Baltimore and Washington branch offices into the Baltimore-Washington General Office in Rosslyn, The Voyagers Group, an association of independent television and print media specialists, relocated to 49 Old Solomons Island Road in Annapolis.

The Johns Hopkins Diabetes Center in Baltimore was honored )) by the American Diabetes Association for its patient education programs. The center offers 22 programs each year covering self-management and understanding of the physical, emotional and medical aspects of diabetes.

Charles E. "Ted" Peck and Joseph L. Shilling were named winners of the 1992 Maryland Chamber of Commerce Public Affairs Awards. Mr. Peck, retired chairman and CEO of the

Ryland Group Inc., was honored for his management methods. Mr. Shilling won his award for starting the Maryland Schools for Success program while state school superintendent from July 1988 to July 1991.

Donald Thoms, director of regional production for Maryland Public Television, won The Ohio State Award for "Outdoors Maryland," a program produced by Maryland Public Television in association with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources.

Bayside Homes of Havre de Grace won a customer satisfaction award from Fleetwood Enterprises, a national producer of manufactured homes.

George G. Balog, Baltimore director of public works, was named one of the top 10 public works leaders of 1992 by the American Public Works Association.

N. J. Richardson & Sons Inc. in Woodbine was honored for 1991 sales performance by Kubota Tractor Corp. of Los Angeles.
