Charles Town stakes slate to open

CHARLES TOWN, W. Va. -- The Charles Town Races' 1992 stakes schedule opens tonight with the inaugural running of the $20,000-added Shenandoah Valley Stakes. The seven-furlong race for 3-year-olds and up is restricted to registered West Virginia-bred, -sired or -raised horses.

Heading the field of 10 horses are Greenway Court, winner of Pimlico's Roman Handicap on May 25 and the high weight at 122 pounds, Profs Flyer at 120 and James Wood at 118.
