Cincinnati Reds -- Signed P Scott Service to a contract with Triple-A Nashville.

Houston Astros -- Sent P Darryl Kile and C Eddie Taubensee to Triple-A Tucson and called up P Willie Blair and C Scooter Tucker. Agreed to a one-year contract that includes a $700,000 signing bonus with Cal State-Fullerton 3B Phil Nevin, the top pick the amateur draft, KRIV-TV of Houston reported.
