Walter H. Volker

Walter H. Volker, retired head of the electric appliance repair department of the Baltimore Gas and Electric Co., died Wednesday of pneumonia at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was 90.

Services for Mr. Volker will be held at noon tomorrow at the Hartley Miller Funeral Home, 7527 Harford Road.

The Woodbourne Avenue resident retired in 1966. He started working for BG&E in 1919, became foreman of refrigeration service in 1930 and superintendent of the department in 1952.

Born in Baltimore, he attended City College and studied electrical engineering at night at Johns Hopkins University.

Mr. Volker had been a member of a World War II draft board.

Following his retirement, he did volunteer work for the Service He is survived by a son, Walter F. Volker of Salisbury; a daughter, Carolyn E. Taylor of Betterton; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
