W. Stanley Reeves, who retired 36 years ago as districtmanager in Baltimore of the Truscon Steel Co., died Sunday of heart failure at the age of 96 at his home in the Asbury Methodist Village in Gaithersburg.
Mr. Reeves had joined the company in 1924. He also had been associated with construction and other businesses before moving to Gaithersburg 12 years ago.
Born in Sibley, Iowa, he earned bachelor's and master's degrees in civil engineering at Iowa State University and served in the Army Corps of Engineers during World War I. He was state engineer for South Dakota before moving to Baltimore.
His wife, the former Frances Corwin, died in 1988.
He is survived by two daughters, Mary Packard of Easton and Jo Ann Lyon of Sterling, Ill.; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Private services were planned.
