BALTIMORE CITY

ROBBERY: Southeastern District -- A 33-year-old resident of the 2000 block of E. Baltimore St. reported he was in the first block of N. Chester St. early yesterday when he was stopped by a man armed with a handgun who ordered him to give up his money. Police said the gunman fled after the victim gave up his wallet containing $6.

ASSAULT/ARREST: Southeastern District -- Police yesterday arrested a man and charged him with breaking into a woman's apartment and threatening her with a handgun. Police said the victim was in her apartment in the first block of S. Exeter St. when a man armed with a handgun forced his way in and threatened to shoot her. Officers responding after someone dialed 911 arrested the man without incident. Police said Gerald Long, 41, of the 2500 block of W. Franklin St., was being held at the police station pending a bail hearing. Police said the incident appeared to be domestic.

BURGLARY: Southeastern District -- The owner of Robert's Barber Shop in the 6200 block of Eastern Ave. reported that when he opened for business yesterday morning he discovered that someone had broken into his shop and stole more than $500 worth of barber tools and supplies. Police said entry was gained by breaking a window.

ROBBERY: Southeastern District -- Police said a resident of the 3900 block of Chesterfield Ave. was in the 1800 block of E. Fayette St. shortly before 4 p.m. Wednesday when he was attacked from the rear by two teen-aged boys who knocked him to the ground and robbed him of his wallet. The 47-year-old victim told police his wallet contained a small sum of cash.

BURGLARY/ASSAULT: Southeastern District -- Police reported a resident of the 1600 block of Portugal St. arrived home around 6 p.m. yesterday and surprised an intruder. Police said the intruder and the occupant became involved in a struggle before the intruder escaped. Police said nothing appeared to have been taken.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Police reported a resident of the 1100 block of N. Gilmor St. was walking near her home late Wednesday night when she was assaulted by a teen-aged boy who robbed her of her earrings. Later, police arrested a suspect and were holding him at the station pending charges.

BURGLARY: Western District -- A resident of the 800 block of Arlington Ave. reported that someone broke into his apartment Wednesday evening and stole nearly $100.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Police said two men attacked a man as he was walking in the 2200 block of Pennsylvania Ave. early yesterday and robbed him of his money. The victim, a resident of the 2100 block of McCulloh St., told police he was robbed of about $200 after he was struck on the face and pushed to the ground. Police said the victim was not seriously injured.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Police reported that someone forced the door to an apartment in the 1100 block of Harlem Ave. Wednesday and stole $200 and a telephone. Police said the telephone was valued at $30.

ASSAULT/ARREST: Western District -- Police yesterday arrested a man and were holding him at the station on charges that he pointed a handgun at another man. The victim, a resident of the 1100 block of N. Carey St., told police that at around 7 a.m. yesterday, a man he knows pointed a handgun at him and threatened to shoot. Police said the victim was not injured and that the suspect was arrested nearby without incident.

ROBBERY: Western District -- An East Baltimore man reported he was walking in the 2300 block of Etting St. yesterday afternoon when he was accosted by a man armed with a handgun who ordered him to give up his money. Police said the victim complied, giving the gunman $50 in cash. The gunman fled on foot.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Police said property valued at nearly $1,200 was stolen from a dwelling in the 2600 block of Mosher St. after someone broke into the house yesterday. Police said the intruder escaped with a cordless telephone, two gold earrings and a gold chain.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- A resident of the 300 block of Font Hill Ave. reported that someone forced their way into his home between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning and stole property valued at more than $1,000. Police said the intruder took stereo equipment and a TV set.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- A female resident of the Bernard E. Mason Apartments in the 2100 block of Windsor Gardens Lane reported she was walking in the 700 block of Franklintown Road late Wednesday night when she was accosted by a man in his mid-20s who twisted her arm and stole her purse. Police said the man escaped with cash and property, all valued at about $50.

ASSAULT: Southern District -- A resident of the 800 block of Glade Court reported that at his house Wednesday he was struck him with a hammer by a man he knows. Police said the victim was not seriously injured and the other man was being sought.
