Baltimore City

SHOOTING: Western District -- Police were seeking the occupants of a white Dodge Colt in the shooting early today of a man in the 200 block of N. Schroeder St. Police said Kevin Richards, 28, of the 2800 block of Edgecombe Circle North in northwest Baltimore, was walking south shortly before 1:30 a.m. when an occupant of a northbound car that drove by him fired several shots at him. Police said one bullet struck Mr. Richards in the chest. The victim was taken by ambulance to the Maryland Shock-Trauma Center, where he was listed in critical condition today. Police said they had no motive for the shooting.

SHOOTING: Western District -- Police reported a resident of the 2100 block of Ashburton St. was shot in the foot yesterday afternoon in the 1800 block of N. Pulaski St. Police said the victim, Charles Barrett, was accosted around 3 p.m. by a man who pulled out a handgun and shot him. Police said Mr. Barrett was treated at the Liberty Medical Center. No reason was given for the shooting.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A resident of the 3100 block of Auchentoroly Terrace reported he was in the 2700 block of Pennsylvania Ave. over the weekend when he was attacked by a man who struck him with his fists and robbed him of his money and a bottle of liquor.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Police reported two men were robbed of their money and property early yesterday in the 2200 block of Pennsylvania Ave. Police said the victims, a resident of the 3900 block of Norfolk Ave. and an out-of-town resident, were stopped around 1 a.m. by a man with a handgun and were ordered them to give up their cash and other valuables. Police said the gunman robbed the Norfolk Avenue resident of $30 and took a gold watch and chain from the other victim.

SHOOTING: Western District -- Police said a resident of the 1500 block of Baker St. was shot yesterday evening when he opened the door of his apartment. Police said the victim, John Christian, 25, was home shortly after 10 p.m. when someone knocked on his door. When Mr. Christian opened the door, one of two men standing in the hallway fired a shot that struck the victim in the right side of the neck. Mr. Christian was taken by ambulance to the University of Maryland Medical Center, where he was listed in critical but stable condition today. Police said they had no motive for the shooting.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Police reported that an elderly Reservoir Hill resident was in the 2100 block of Ashburton St. last night when he was accosted by two men who robbed him of his cash and property at knifepoint. Police said the 70-year-old victim was about to enter his car around 11 p.m. when he was grabbed around the neck by two men who rifled his pockets and took more than $20. Police said the men then robbed the victim of his gold watch, diamond ring and a gold necklace before escaping on foot. Police said the total value of the cash and property was more than $750.

BURGLARY: Northwestern District -- A resident of the 4000 block of Ridgewood Ave. reported that someone broke into her apartment over the weekend and stole a $200 microwave oven.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- A female employee of Little Joe's Carry Out in the 5400 block of Sinclair Lane reported she was getting out of her car while delivering a food order in the 1800 block of Maulsby Court in the Hollander Ridge development around 10 p.m. yesterday when she was attacked from the rear by a man. The 51-year-old victim told police the man struck her several times before robbing her of less than $20.

BURGLARY: Northwestern District -- Police reported that property valued at $400 was stolen from a house in the 3400 block of Piedmont Ave. over the weekend. Police said the intruder stole a VCR and a small air-conditioner.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Employees of the G.C. Murphy store in the 900 block of W. 36th St. in Hampden reported that someone broke out a section of their front window over the weekend and stole several collectible baseball cards on display. Police said the baseball cards were valued at more than $2,000.

THEFT: Northern District -- A resident of the 4800 block of Kimberly Road reported that someone stole all four wheel covers off his 1991 Ford over the weekend while the vehicle was parked near his home. Police said the equipment was valued at $200.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Police said property valued at more than $500 was stolen from a home in the 200 block of Wyndhurst Road over the weekend. Police said someone entered the house through a bedroom window and stole two VCRs.

THEFT: Northern District -- Employees of MCS Contractors in the 3600 block of Commercial Drive reported that someone broke a window of a company-owned vehicle while it was parked in the 200 block of Hawthorne Road over the weekend and stole a mobile telephone valued at more than $1,000.
