Brown vs. Quayle

It's your call

May 22, 1992

TV sitcom character Murphy Brown delivered her out-of-wedlock baby, controversy enough.

Then Vice President Quayle entered the debate, stating: "Bearing babies irresponsibly is wrong. It doesn't help matters when prime-time TV . . . has a character who supposedly epitomizes today's intelligent, highly paid, professional woman mocking the importance of fathers by bearing a child alone and then calling it just another 'lifestyle choice.' "

The Evening Sun would like to know what you think. Who's right, Murphy Brown or Dan Quayle? Are there situations where unwed motherhood is acceptable?

To register your opinion, call SUNDIAL at 783-1800 (or 268-7736 in Anne Arundel County) through midnight Sunday.
